ASIAN GAMES 2018: DAY 6 HIGHLIGHTS
India grabbed seven medals on Day 6 of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. India won medal in Tennis, Women’s Kabbaddi, Shooting, Rowing and at last Saina reached to quarterfinals. Friday seems to be the most productive day so far in this year’s Asian Games.
SAINA NEHWAL ADVANCES TO QUARTER FINALS
The match was tough, situations were difficult but Saina’s potential was at the top. India’s Saina Nehwal beat Fitani of Indonesia by 21-6 and reach quarterfinals. With the opening of the match Saina made it clear that she’s not going back from here. Saina conceived six points continuously of the opponent and then gave a break through by losing two points. Fitani was confident enough to change the momentum of the match but Saina was so clever that she made the match one sided and at last reached to quarterfinals by winning the match.
TENNIS: ROHAN BOPANA AND DIVIJ SHARAN WON GOLD IN MEN’S DOUBLES TENNIS
Indian Tennis player created history on Friday. The first Gold from Tennis came in the bag of India. The match was not easy. From the opening, opponents were leading by 5-0. But then suddenly the momentum goes in favour of Indian boys, and score reaches to 11-6, where India starts leading by 5 points. At last in the knock out match finals, India won the 16 round off match and the Gold by 21-11.
INDIAN ROWING TEAM WINS FIFTH GOLD MEDAL FOR INDIA
The hard work, potential and power of Four Indian Boys including Sawarn Singh, Dattu Bhokanal, Om Prakash and Sukhmeet Singh bagged the Yellow medal for India. The Indian Rowing Team crossed the finish line in first place with a least time of 6:17.13 and clinched the Gold medal from Asian Games 2018. Whereas Indonesia clinched the silver medal and Thailand grabbed the bronze medal from the same event on Friday.
WOMEN KABADDI: INDIAN WOMEN KABADDI TEAM SETTLED FOR SILVER
In the history of Indian Kabaddi, Indian Women created a milestone. They had a final match with Iran. The power of both the teams were equal and thats why Indian women won just by three points. There silver medal came after the men’s kabaddi team settled for a bronze medal. This is the first time when Indian Men’s Kabaddi Team stands up on the 3rd position since kabaddi was included in the multi sport event. Indian women’s kabaddi team grabbed Silver for India at the Asian Games at Jakarta after a 24-27 loss to Iran in the finals.
