How can you stay healthy? Through your balanced diet only. No!!! The right way to achieve health is by taking a balanced diet , reducing stress & “adequate physical activity”. Diet and physical activity both are equally important for a healthy mind and body. Here are some points, which tell us why adequate physical activity is important for us.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Why & How to go for it?

 

Physical activity increases –

  • Concentration
  • Confidence
  • Muscle mass
  • Metabolic rate

Physical activity decreases –

  • Blood pressure
  • Blood cholesterol
  • Stress

 

Easy ways to incorporate physical activity in your daily life…

  1. Start and end your each day with a walk around your neighborhood make sure it’s a brisk walk.

 

  1. Dance on your favorite music at home. Dancing is the best exercise you can do and it also reduce anxiety and stress. You just move your booty and shake your hand and legs here there, its just fun.

 

  1. Exercise while watching TV, e.g. ride a stationary bicycle, or perform stretching exercises.

 

  1. Play any sport like badminton , cricket or whatever you want for at least 10 minutes without stopping.

 

 

  1. At a more vigorous pace, do housework, yard work or like gardening which is the best option seeing the state of our environment.

 

  1. When you travel, walk around the train platform, bus stop, or airport rather than sitting and waiting. This is a very good warm up for you and also gets aware about your surrounding instead of your mobile phones.

Instead of Follow
Taking tea/ coffee/ cigarette breaks in office. Take fitness breaks and walk around the office briskly.
Using elevators or escalators. Use staircase.
Playing video games /watching television play outside / go for cycling / a game of cricket.
Overly stressing yourself with or work pressure, Devote minimum 5 minutes to yoga and stretching exercises everyday.
