The Sindhu River flows to the east of the hills making it a more magnificent place to enjoy the beauty. Mostly all the travelers stop by this hill to observe this phenomenon and takes lots of photographs. A yellow box is marked on the Magnetic Road which is just a few meters away from the hills. The yellow box indicates that if you park your vehicle in neutral gear it will move in the upward direction at a speed of about 20 km/h. It depicts the phenomenon of gravity.
The reason this hill is famous for is that it pulls objects or vehicles in the upwards direction. It is one of the major tourist attraction in Leh. There is only one problem in that magnificent place being far away from the Leh city there are less eating joints and hotels. You might find some of the homestays on the way but they are only a few. You need to carry all your food and drinks before visiting the place. The best time to visit the Magnetic Hills if from July to September. The roads are clear from ice and dirt and it’s a clear sunny day so you can easily enjoy the beautiful Ladakh. It’s a must visit place for all.
Ways to visit the “Magnetic Hill”
Air – The Magnetic Hills is at a distance of about 30 km from the Leh International Airport. You can take a taxi to reach the hill.
Train – By train, you can reach the hill through the nearest station which is Jammutawi. It is at a distance of about 700 km from Leh Ladakh. This station is connected to all the major cities in India. You can reach from the station through any taxi or bus.
Road– Delhi is the key point from where you can start the destination for your Leh Ladakh trip. Through Delhi, Manali-Leh highway will be the easiest option to visit the hills. Most travelers prefer to travel Manali to Leh which is almost 500 km in their won vehicle.
